Board of Management:
School Patron, Bishop Francis Duffy has formally appointed the new Board of Management and he has reappointed Mrs. Mary Kenny as Chairperson.
Mary Kenny welcomed the new Board members and thanked the outgoing Board for their hard work over the past four years.
The Members of the New Board of Management are as follows:

Catholic Schools Week
Catholic Schools Week took place during the week of 31st January-6th February
Bishop Francis Duffy and Diocesan Catechist, Peter Walsh will visit the school at the end of February.
First Holy Communion & Confirmation Programmes
Confirmation takes place on 5th March and First Holy Communion on the 28th May. The Board wishes the pupils, their families and their teachers the very best of luck in their preparations for these very special occasions over the coming months.
School Self Evaluation and School Improvement Plan
The current areas of focus for School Self-Evaluation and the School Improvement Plan include Literacy, Numeracy and Gaeilge Neamhfhoirmiúil.
Policy Review: Child Protection
The annual review of the school’s Child Protection Policy took place. The Designated Liaison Person for Child Protection is Fintan Farrelly, Principal and the Deputy Designated Liaison Person for Child Protection is Fiona Hughes, Deputy Principal.
The Appendix to School Self-Evaluation Report: legislative and regulatory checklist was completed by the Board.
Presentation of the National Flag and Proclamation to St. Dominic’s NS
Members of the Civil Defence Forces presented the school with our national flag and a copy of the 1916 Proclamation on the 18th January. The school will mark the centenary of the 1916 Rising during this term.
Secondary School Visits
6th Class pupils were invited to spend a day in Mercy Convent Ballymahon and Ballymahon Vocational Schools to ease the transition to secondary school and completed assessment tests.

- Fintan Farrelly has been appointed Secretary to the B.O.M.
- All items for the agenda for the BOM come through the Secretary to the B.O.M.
- June Montgomery has been appointed Treasurer to the B.O.M. A Treasurer’s Report will be submitted at each meeting of the B.O.M.
- The Chairperson and the Principal are authorised to act on behalf of the Board between meetings.
