New Yard Markings (May 2026)

The Parents Association very kindly sourced some stencils for the yard and purchased some spray paint for us. The Active Schools committee and some of the playground leaders were busy at work this week spray painting the stencils in the yard. There are mazes and obstacle courses, as well as hopscotch. It is another great way to promote more active breaktimes!

FAI Primary 5s
(March 2026)

5th and 6th Class took part in the FAI Primary 5s competition in Longford recently. Everyone showed great sportsmanship. The boys were unlucky on the day, only narrowly missing out in the end. The girls progressed to Navan in May - we wish them the best of luck! :-)

Laps for Inclusion with Special Olympics Ireland (March 2025)

On the 25th March we, along with members of the Irish Wheelchair Association and Kenagh GAA, took part in Special Olympics Ireland's 'Laps for Inclusion' initiative. The initiative promotes school spirit and inclusion. It was a lovely way to spend the morning. Thank you to the staff of the Irish Wheelchair Association who provided tasty treats afterwards!

Athletics Ireland Indoor Athletics Competition

Fundamental Skills Development with Longford GAA (January 2026)

Our pupils are getting a great opportunity to develop the fundamental skills of walking, running, kicking and catching that we are focusing on this year during weekly GAA training sessions with Paul and David. The children look forward to the sessions each week and are making great progress!

RSA Street Smart Initiative
(November 2025)

We are working hard to increase our walking and cycling to and from school at the moment so it was a great time to take part in the RSA Street Smart Initiative. The children learned lots about road safety and about travelling on foot and by bicycle safely. Many thanks to the RSA for their visit!

Learning on the Move with Corlea Heritage Centre (September 2025)

The pupils from Mrs McCormick's class were learning on the move this week when they visited Corlea Heritage Centre for a biodiversity walk in the bog. They learned so much about the flora and fauna while getting their steps in at the same time! Thank you to all of the staff in Corlea Heritage Centre.

RSA Streetsmart Road Safety (13th January 2023)

We are encouraging all of our children who are able to, to walk to school more often. We want to make sure that they are safe doing so! The RSA Streetsmart Road Safety Show came to our school today. The Streetsmart brings road safety to life in a fun way for children. Using pretend streetscape mat and props, children are invited to carry out everyday road safety tasks! They learn from their own experiences and those of their classmates through a series of activities and received their very own safety licence! Well done everyone!
